Up for sale is a vintage mid-century 9.5-inch "drink-and-wet" baby doll, likely dating from the 1940s to 1950s. This doll features a hard plastic/vinyl jointed body, molded hair, an open mouth designed for a miniature bottle, and functional weighted blinking sleep eyes. It measures 9.5" tall. It was known as "Matilda".

Back of the Head: it features classic molded swirling hair texture and jointed limb attachments typical of small plastic novelty dolls from that era
The Blue Stain: The mark on the stomach, curving around the navel looks like an old ink stain from a pen, a very common sign of a child playing with it decades ago
The Legs: One leg is bare plastic or vinyl with a small dark mark near the knee, and the other is wrapped or covered in gauze, with some kind of stiffener so that it looks like a cast. This was an addition by the original owner; possibly because her mother was a nurse and there might have been some attempt to emulate her. The doll is wearing some type of diaper made of unidentified cloth and secured with a safety pin. One one side is a curved, semi-circular shape resembling a crescent, a sideways "C", or an incomplete circle, likely from an dark blue or black ink pen.
Markings: There is a notable blue ink mark on the front torso/abdomen area, along with a few minor scuffs on the limbs.
Left Leg: The left leg is heavily wrapped/bandaged. The joint may be loose or damaged underneath, most likely part of childhood imagination. It fells tight and mobile. Appears to be made of plaster used in casts in the 1960s.
Eyes & Features: The sleep eyes still function and blink, though they show typical minor age clouding/wear. The left eye functions normally- open when upright, closed when laying down. The right eye always stays open.
Facial paint on the lips remains bright
Accessories: Comes wearing an old, loose-fitting handmade vintage cloth diaper.
