Goldette Vintage Victorian Revival Style Street Lamp Brooch

Vintage Goldette lantern brooch. Manufactured around the mid-20th century as part of Goldette's Victorian Revival costume jewelry collections, the piece is stylized to resemble an ornate antique streetlamp or torch. Goldette (founded by Ben Gartner)—only operated from 1955 until 1977. This particular lantern design was a staple of their popular mid-century historical revival collections.

 Dating from the late 1950s, -early 1960s, it is constructed from an antiqued gold-tone base metal featuring intricate, textured metalwork. The focal point is the center,  holds a distinct, rectangular faceted clear stone that mimics the glass panes of a lantern. Underneath, an elongated handle tapers down to a pointed finial tip at the base. On a raised oval, it is signed Goldette (copyright symbol).

The brooch- is in good vintage condition. The large, emerald-cut clear glass stone is intact, sits securely in its bezel setting, and retains good clarity without obvious cracks or severe chips; The antiqued gold-tone finish shows some light, typical patina and minor tarnishing in the recessed details of the Victorian-style metalwork, common for Goldette pieces of this era. The elongated post and pointed end of the street lamp design appear straight and lack severe bending warping. The pin stem is straight and properly aligned with the catch. The hinge mechanism on the left and the catch assembly near the center appear complete and original.
