Vintage Bicentennial / Scorpio Large Medallion with Chain Zodiac Patriotic

This uncommon medallion commemorating the United States Bicentennial also pays homage to those under the zodiac sign Scorpio, in a substantial round medallion. On a large disc, one side shows a border with the dates 1776-1976 at the top, and "Bicentennial" at the bottom. There are stars on the sides. The medallion area is divided into two half circles. The top shows the familiar image of the small fife and drum band; the bottom half has a mysterious design which I take to be the moon lander. 

On the reverse, a scorpion motif is centered to catch the eye, and around the edges are the zodiac symbol for Scorpio, the dates Oct 24-Nov 22. At the bottom of the medallion, the word Scorpio appears. On both top and bottom, preceding and following each dates or words, are the symbols for Scorpio, and all letter are upper case. The top of the medallion has a detail which closely resembles the top of a pocket watch. The medallion itself measures 1.75" across; the chain measures 24" inches long. There is. bit of polish loss on the clasp, and some wear to the metal as shown in the photos. Great way to express patriotism and an excellent conversation starter.
