This is another example of the stunning craftmanship and design elegance produced by the ART company. It was founded by Arthur Pepper in the 1940s-1950s, and ended production in the 1970s. Their pieces (at least my favorites) are characterized by an elaborate Victorian style setting with tiny faux pearls, garnets and turquoise stones.
This particular brooch has all of those features, and its dainty design is stunning. A round red stone rests in the center, surrounded by tiny faul pearls and faux turquoise. Flanking the center element are pear shaped elements, continuing the color scheme. It measures 2" across, and is signed ART with the copyright symbol. Don't miss out on this one- it's a find.
